Before the Bet
A Boomtown Biloxi blackjack dealer is charged with showing cards to players before the money was down, and with leaving losing bets on the table.

On 16 July 2025 a blackjack dealer at Boomtown Casino Biloxi was taken off the game and arrested the same day. Court papers name him as Huynh Chi Kang Nguyen, 27, of Biloxi. The Mississippi Gaming Commission investigated. Harrison County later charged him with one count of cheating at gambling. He pleaded not guilty. He is out on $25,000 bond. A court still has to decide guilt.
Blackjack has an order. The bet goes down first. Then the cards come. Players act. The dealer acts. That order is the game. If a player sees a card before the chips are in the circle, the bet is no longer a bet. It is a sure thing or a pass.

Court records say Nguyen did two things. He exposed cards to patrons before they placed bets. And he failed to collect losing bets. The first gives a player the next card, or the hole card, while there is still time to put money out or keep it in the rack. The second leaves chips in the circle after the hand is already a loser. Those chips should have come back to the house.
No dollar figure has been published. The charge is the conduct, not a listed take. If convicted he faces up to two years and a fine of up to $10,000. He has been screened for a pre-trial diversion program. If he completes that program, he can avoid a felony conviction. Assistant District Attorney Meaghan Smith is prosecuting.
Watch
- First base that stays flat until after the dealer peek.
- A hole card that turns toward the rail instead of staying flat.
- A sweep that skips a losing circle.
