Late Money

Macau police say a baccarat dealer let a player bet after the cards were out, then paid 22 to 1 on banker six.

Between 25 May and 7 June 2025 a baccarat table in Macau kept coming down to one dealer and one player. Macau Judiciary Police say that is when the money moved. The dealer was 25 and local. The player was 38 and from the mainland. Police did not name the house.

On that game the wager has to be down before a card is drawn. Police say this dealer ignored that. He let the player put chips out after the hand was already decided. That is a delayed bet. The house is then paying a result it has already shown.

They were waiting for one result. Banker six. Some Macau rooms pay that side at 22 to 1. After it showed, the player put out between HK$5,000 and HK$15,000. The dealer paid between HK$110,000 and HK$330,000 a hand. Over two weeks police put the take at HK$1.76 million, about $226,000 in US dollars.

The dealer resigned on 7 June, the last day they worked the table. Police arrested both men on 26 June. By then both were out of work. They told investigators they split the take even and had already lost it back on the games. The file went to the Public Prosecutions Office as fraud. A court still has to decide guilt.

  • Chips that land after the cards are already out.
  • A winning spot that was empty when the cards came.
  • A dealer who pays that spot anyway.
