Macau police arrested a mainland man who livestreamed baccarat through a phone sewn into his shirt, then took betting instructions through an earpiece.
Baccarat · Hidden camera
In June 2026 Macau Judiciary Police arrested Zhang, 43, an unemployed man from the mainland, during a floor check for proxy betting. Police did not name the house. They say he had been hired since mid-May, about HK$1,000 an hour, and had done the job at least eight times.
The wager on baccarat has to be down before a card is drawn. If someone off the floor can see the cards as they come, they can tell him what to put out. Police say a smartphone was fixed to the front of his shirt, with a hole for the camera. He livestreamed the table to the mainland over a messaging app. An earpiece brought the instructions back.
Officers seized HK$41,000 in chips, cash, modified clothes, and six phones. More of the same was in his Cotai hotel room.
He was charged with illegal online gambling and mutual betting. A court still has to decide guilt.
